Book Of The Dead, The

Book Of The Dead, The
   From Egyptian mythology, this book is a guide for the dead. It contains formulas, hymns, incantations and prayers. The dead person would face many trials after death, including answering the forty two judges and being vindicated by Osiris.
   If all the trials were successfully completed, the soul could enter Amenti, the underworld in the West. Other cultures had similar books too.
